Hi, we are three 7th grade student that attend windward school, currently we are working on our challenge based learning (CBL) project, Are group chose to solve the problem of electric scooters in busy communities trying to find a balance of keeping people safe on scooters but not getting rid of scooters entirely. We came to this idea as a group because electric scooters are such a easy way to get around but clearly have a safety hazard that has to be dealt with. This topic interested are group because we have these scooters all over are community and realize how efficient but what safety hazards these scooters have. Our group relates to electric scooters, because as citizens to Los Angeles we see e-Scooters all around the Palisades, Westwood, and Santa Monica which basically means we see it everywhere we go. There is some danger associated with bird scooters, obstacles everywhere (including pedestrians), falling off, uneven surface, ect. Our goal is to reduce the danger in any way possible. Electric scooters have rules such as; have a license, be 18, wear a helmet, drive on the pavement not the curb. When these rules are followed it minimizes danger, but these rules are constantly being ignored, maximizing danger.
