The forum happened, it went very well. I had a lot of feedback and people seem to really enjoy our product even though it’s not an original idea just getting it out there and trying to partner benefits the community. A lot of parents came over and some were even putting suggestions out, some ways they could improve it for their children. We described our product in great depth the first times, but then we just started getting into the feels and talking about what they were interested in while still talking about the whole thing.
Written By Myles Chayet Last Sunday me and a group member collected data by surveying people in are community who have rode and been affected by electric scooters. Are final solution is to request d large electric scooter companies to consider putting an option on their app of purchasing foldable helmets, as well as the regular free helmets their giving to scooter riders. The data we collected taught us to that people want to buy these products the problem is their not well known and easy to buy as regular helmets. To increase the impact on our community are group, should have added questions to our survey to receive information on why people wouldn’t buy foldable helmets. This would have helped us keep improving the foldable helmet to make it the best it can be. We received a lot of feedback like many other ways people were getting injured on electric scooters and lots of information how often people actually did were helmets on scooters.
By : Max Bridwell Our solution is to not only get people to wear helmets when using e-scooters, but for people to buy the helmet we found. When researching we found that the reason people weren’t using helmets was not that they didn’t have one but for people who use it as their main source of transportation it was hard for them to take it places. We searched around the web and found a helmet that you can fold making it easy to fit in a backpack, and easy to take from place to place. We also discussed and Cosme to a solution where if people did not like the helmet we found we would revise the helmet and with the help of our feedback hopefully improve the helmet. We have had trouble developing our solution, throughout or project we have had some disagreements. We finally came to an agreement with our solution. But to collect data there has also been scheduling difficulties so that we are able finalize our folding helmet projects.
Thinking of a quality solution to fix a lack of e-scooter drivers wearing helmets and take the necessary precautions so that they can avoid getting injured. A problem we have faced is finding a cheap and affordable solution to resolving our problems. We solved these problems by searching the web for low priced and innovative solutions for the problem of lack of helmet usage. We later found a durable and flexible helmet, compact, and easily stored. We will test and survey this product in the westwood area .
We met with the faculty and they liked our ideas and told us to reach out to a windward alumni who is high up in bird operations. We then realized that bird scooters give out free helmets, and decided to pursue a form of inflatable and folding helmets, because the helmets aren't the problem, carrying them are. We are ordering a folding helmet, and are investigating inflatable helmets, and going to interview people about it. We pursued the foldable helmets and that is a very safe and mobile idea. It folds and is very easily transportable, it will reduce injury rates, and make the city safer. We met with the faculty and they liked our ideas and told us to reach out to a windward alumni who is high up in bird operations. Over the last week my team has identified a problem that were are making an attempt to fix. That problem is people injuring them self on E-scooters like, Birds,Limes, and Jumps. Even though it’s against the law to be under 18 and not wear a helmet on an E-scooter many people do because no one is enforcing it, and end up having head injuries. We identified this problem because these scooters are in are community and people are affected by them everyday. A solution my group is considering is creating an app that requires a person under 18 to take a photo of themselves wearing a helmet to unlock a E-scooter. Another idea we had was to create a helmet that could fold up and easily be stored on the scooter to allow people not to bring a helmet to ride an E-scooter. E-scooter companies are identifying these problems and have sent free helmets to people so they can ride safely. The problem with this is that helmets need to be easy to access when someone wants to use an E-scooters at a convenient time. This is why we thought it would be a good idea if helmets came with the scooters and people didn't have to bring them wherever they go.
